White Ritual live at European Dark Dance Treffen (2023)

On Saturday 18 November 2023, White Ritual took one of the stages at European Dark Dance Treffen (EDDT) inside the MS Connexion Complex, Angelstraße 33, 68199 Mannheim. The festival ran four days — 16–19 November 2023 — across five floors, three stages, live acts, DJ sets, and aftershow parties. White Ritual’s slot sat on the Saturday programme, not as a hometown club ritual but as a Strasbourg band meeting the wider European dark scene.

The evening belongs to the same live chapter as the Diamant d’Or 2023 archive earlier that year: repertoire and identity still orbit the debut album In & Out (22 July 2022, darkTunes Music Group). Where Diamant d’Or documented a full-album club set in Strasbourg, Mannheim was a festival cut — shared floors with gothic, darkwave, EBM, and electro-industrial neighbours, labelmates included.

European Dark Dance Treffen 2023 was staged by the Helter Skelter / Dark Dance orbit at MS Connexion Complex. Official venue listings describe a dense indoor weekend: day tickets and festival tickets, opening party on Thursday 16 November, and live days Friday through Sunday. White Ritual appears on the Saturday 18 November lineup published by the venue — the same date used on the band’s own dated archive post and on the Live hub card.

Shared Saturday company (selection from the official MS Connexion day bill) included names such as Blutengel, Monolith, 2nd Face, Zoodrake, Wiegand, Monya, Her Own World, CZARINA, TOAL, Freak Injection, and Agnis, among others. Label coverage around the edition framed several darkTunes acts — White Ritual included — as part of a Germany-facing live moment for the roster. Press later (ABSYNTH, January 2024) described Mannheim as a rare in-person meeting point for darkTunes artists from across Europe; Lily of White Ritual is quoted there on how bringing label groups together strengthened those bonds.

None of that requires padding the set. The confirmed story is location, date, era, and bill — not a reconstructed track-by-track fantasy.

By November 2023 the band’s public studio spine was still In & Out: fourteen darkwave / electro-rock tracks, Lily’s ethereal lead against Ricardo’s harsher counter-voice, sharp synths, cinematic guitars, and live drums. The Mannheim date sits between the January 2023 Strasbourg Diamant d’Or full-album ritual and the later catalogue expansions (In & Out Remixes, Crosses, Ritual Lust, Furious Passion) that arrive from 2025 onward.

What the archives document for EDDT is presence and framing — a French darkwave quartet on a German multi-stage floor — not a published minute-by-minute show report. Stage stills credited to Visual Expand (Prod Photo Vidéo Drone) were published after the concert; the site already hosts selected frames used by the Live hub and the dated news archive. Treat those images as the visual proof of the night; do not invent a set order to fill the gap beside them.
