Born from the Ritual

White Ritual is a darkwave and electro-industrial band from Strasbourg, France. Born from the shadow of January 2019, the project was conceived by Ricardo Gomes — former vocalist and guitarist of the metal band Absurdity, and producer known as zNo.

To forge the quartet, Ricardo summoned Cedric Belzunce on guitar (also ex-Absurdity), Nicolas Brehm on drums (ex-Crocodiles INC, Project White), and the spellbinding Coralie Setan — known as Lily — on vocals. Together they craft a ritualistic universe of gothic and electronic depth.

Blending ethereal female vocals with harsh growls, sharp synths, and cinematic guitars, White Ritual explores the tensions of human nature: abandonment, love, death, desire, and belief. Their music draws from Killing Joke, FKA Twigs, and Chelsea Wolfe, forging a modern alternative to 80s gothic clichés.

Signed to darkTunes Music Group, they released their debut album In & Out in 2022 to critical acclaim across the European dark scene. In 2025, the band unleashed In & Out Remixes, the single Crosses, and their latest Ritual Lust.
