L’ADN du Groupe : « Gothique, Humain et Dark »

Comment définir le son de White Ritual ? Si l’on en croit Lily, la chanteuse à la voix envoûtante, l’équation tient en trois mots : Gothique, Humain et Dark.

Gothique : Pour l’esthétique visuelle et l’atmosphère brumeuse qui enveloppe le projet.
Humain : Car au-delà des machines, les textes explorent la dualité des sentiments, l’amour, le deuil et les relations toxiques.
Dark : « Parce qu’on aime le noir », plaisante-t-elle.

De son côté, Ricardo, le cerveau compositeur (qu’il se plaît à décrire comme le « Dr. Dre du groupe »), propose une définition qui parlera aux fans de pop-culture :

« C’est comme si vous preniez Stranger Things avec la chanteuse d’Evanescence. Vous mélangez le tout, et ça donne du Carpenter Brut croisé avec du Perturbator, mais avec un chant féminin ultra catchy. »

🔮 Ritual Lust : Le tube du moment

C’est le titre qui incarne le mieux leur virage actuel. Avec ses gros synthés années 80 et son ambiance dense, le morceau est accompagné d’un clip aux tons rouges, explorant une esthétique Vaporwave glauque peuplée de créatures nocturnes.

🌑 Blind : La puissance brute

C’est la favorite de Lily. Avec son refrain « Scream My Emptiness » (Hurler mon vide), c’est une chanson lourde de sens qui permet à la chanteuse de libérer toute sa puissance vocale.

💔 Live Again : L’émotion à l’état pur

Composée suite à un deuil familial, cette chanson reste la plus difficile mais la plus touchante à interpréter pour le groupe. Une preuve que White Ritual sait aussi toucher la corde sensible.

Vie de Tournée : Rituels et Anecdotes

Loin de l’image froide du studio, la vie de groupe (accompagnés de Nico à la batterie et Nice à la guitare) est faite de stress, de rires et de bières.

Le Matos vs La Robe

Chacun son rituel avant de monter sur scène. Pour Ricardo, accro à la technologie (et notamment à sa précieuse Akai MPC Live), c’est un stress intense pour vérifier que tout est calibré au millimètre. Pour Lily, pas d’échauffement vocal complexe, mais une exigence stylistique : une nouvelle robe pour chaque concert. C’est son armure, son bouclier contre les mauvaises ondes.

Les moments « Oups »

Tout n’est pas toujours parfait. Ricardo confie avec humour sa tendance à se perdre n’importe où en tournée (au point d’avoir failli être oublié par le bus !) ou encore ce souvenir douloureux de leur tout premier concert à Strasbourg :

« J’avais un problème de retour… J’ai chanté le premier couplet de ‘Deathstar’ complètement faux. J’ai vu les visages du public se décomposer. J’ai cru que j’allais mourir de honte ! » lily

L’Avenir ? Un Manoir et des Copains

Comment se voient-ils dans 10 ans ? Le rêve est simple mais grandiose : vivre dans un manoir gothique transformé en studio et en boîte de nuit, avec une tireuse à bière pour accueillir tous les copains. Car au final, White Ritual, c’est avant tout une histoire d’amitié, de passion pour la scène (Ricardo se dit « addict au live ») et d’amour pour la musique sombre.

White Ritual: The Dark Fusion of Human and Machine

How do you define the White Ritual sound? According to Lily, the singer with the bewitching voice, the equation comes down to three words: Gothic, Human, and Dark.

Gothic: For the visual aesthetic and the misty atmosphere that wraps around the project.
Human: Because beyond the machines, the lyrics explore the duality of feelings, love, grief, and toxic relationships.
Dark: « Because we just love black, » she jokes.

On his side, Ricardo, the composer brain (who likes to describe himself as the « Dr. Dre of the group »), offers a definition that will speak to pop-culture fans:

« It’s as if you took Stranger Things with the singer from Evanescence. You mix it all up, and it gives you Carpenter Brut crossed with Perturbator, but with ultra-catchy female vocals. »

Everyone has their ritual before going on stage. For Ricardo, addicted to technology (and notably his precious Akai MPC Live), it’s intense stress to verify that everything is calibrated to the millimeter. Everything isn’t always perfect. Ricardo humorously confesses her tendency to get lost anywhere on tour (to the point of almost being left behind by the bus!) or that painful memory of their very first concert in Strasbourg:

« I had a monitor problem… I sang the first verse of ‘The Stars’ completely off-key. I saw the audience’s faces decompose. I thought I was going to die of shame! » Lily

The Future? A Manor and Friends

How do they see themselves in 10 years? The dream is simple but grand: living in a gothic manor transformed into a studio and nightclub, with a beer tap to welcome all their friends. Because in the end, White Ritual is above all a story of friendship, passion for the stage (Ricardo says he is a « live addict »), and love for dark music.
